STCW is a basic training course can be perused after 10th – 12th. This basic training course is made up of four modules – PST (Personal Survival Techniques), EFA (Elementary First Aid), Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting and Personal Safety and Social Responsibility. Many maritime institutes have direct entry scheme, where they make candidates undergo these basic STCW courses. After completing this academic course, candidates are given on ship training for a period of 12 months or more.
10th (minimum) or 12th Pass from a government recognized board with a minimum of 40% marks aggregate and 40% marks in English is mandatory. Passport is also required for admission.
Between 17.5 to 25 years as on the date of commencement of course.
Candidates should be medically and physically fit with eyesight 6/6 and no colour blindness.
NMS undertakes an Aptitude and written test followed by CET of D.G. Shipping. The final selection will only take place after medical check-up through our panel Doctor. approved by D. G. Shipping Govt. of India.
